Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the place where we're testing every single mask on Amazon. Today we're looking at the Halo Life. That's right, that Halo Life mask.

I know you guys have been looking forward to this so let's put this in the clamper. So this is one of those masks which, if you're going to do a reusable mask, I definitely would at least go for one that has a good filter that you can put inside it. This thing's pretty expensive, it's 30 bucks. We bought this on... Oh, that's interesting. It's got a little nose thing you put in there. So I can't... I only have one because it costs $30. And it's got this little filter here. Well, it's a cute little filter. And the filter's made in China, that's interesting. That's cute. It's a cute little filter, oh my gosh.

So this machine will actually test this filter really well. I'm so excited because they make a lot of claims. Okay, let's see. Man, this is the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life. I actually built an entire mass factory in less time that it's taken me to install this [inaudible 00:01:15] filter. Jesus. This is struggle city. This video is going to be 38 minutes unless our editor is merciful and cuts it down for you guys. But I've been doing this my whole life, just in case anyone's wondering. Okay, I think I finally got it in there. So, D on the customer experience so far, but I think it might be worth it if this thing actually works and if it's breathable and all that. All right, now we're going to put it in this thing. Now this is a specifically designed testing apparatus, and I'm going to make sure that we are maximizing the filtration area here. Okay. Not a thing.

We're testing now. We are testing. Very exciting. Very exciting. All right, let's talk about this guy. So they make a lot of claims on the listing. They're saying... Forbes says, "Rated the most comfortable mask. Fortune by far the best mask." Men's journal, "Stylish, comfortable, best value." I don't know about that. There are cheaper masks, trust me. "Nice fit. Be safe, comfortable, look good." Okay. Now I know somewhere on here they talk about... Yeah. So 99% protection from smoke ash, VOCs and other toxic pollutants. Nanofiber activated. Activated carbon, okay. Lab tested to capture 99% at 2.5 microns. That's a PM 2.5 filter, which is... Yeah, that's good that it would replace that, but that's not going to catch anything close to COVID. That's 25 times bigger than the size of COVID. So the fact that they're saying it provides 99% protection, I don't like that. That doesn't make me feel good. The airflow resistance, I'm looking, is 43 pascals, which is very, very breathable. But breathable, say it with me, follows filtration so I'm betting you the filtration isn't very good.

And they're basically saying that there are PM 2.5 filters, so it's not very good. Don't forget... I'm looking at the packaging. Great packaging, great brand. Don't forget the filters that probably don't do anything. Nanofilters are effective for 200 hours of use, four weeks for every... Typically used during COVID-19. So they're making claims here, I would say, that this thing is going to protect you against COVID-19, and I really, really don't think that's going to be true. I just don't think it's going to be true. Making a lot of claims how it's going to protect you and be the most comfortable mask, but what does the machine say? I'll do the smell test and everything in a second, but let's take a look at the PFE. Yeah, exactly. This is one of the worst masks we have ever tested.

I tested a pillow case, a Minion pillow case that I literally took off my kids' bed, and I put in the clamp and it tested better than this. That was at 20%. This thing has, with the filter, 16.24%. 16.24%. That is horrible. So I think the biggest problem with this is the surface area. They just made this way too small. They should have made it about 30% bigger. My face isn't huge. It's not small, but it's not huge. So I think that's the biggest issue here with this filter, but I want to test just the filter and see. This is for... So just the filter itself, if I get it perfectly on that tiny little testing hole, is around 45%. But the problem is when it's on your face, and that's why I wanted to do this, it's not going to fit perfectly. I'm going to let the test finish. And then I'm going to look at the structure.

This is cloth, I don't think that's going to break. I like the adjustable ear loops. It actually comes with this nose foam which you can put... Right, I'll have a whole camera for this [inaudible 00:05:27]. You put right in here, so it's going to give you a better seal. Not that seal matters, because this is a total [inaudible 00:05:35] product. So in order for fit to matter, you have to have good quality filtration and this doesn't have good quality filtration. And then it doesn't even stick either, look, it just fell right off so total garbage. $30 for this. This mask is pure marketing. Fit is actually pretty good, so if they could just upgrade the filter it'd be much better. Actually the fit is phenomenal, I'll give them that. And actually it is very comfortable. And I look like a... If I was going to be a ninja for Halloween... For a cosplay situation this mask is dope.

The smell, obviously you can clean it and it will smell like whatever you want it to smell like, but I'd love for it to smell like clean socks, for example, but it doesn't, it smells like clean socks with gasoline poured on it. But the fit is phenomenal. Ironic, because the filtration totally blows.

Let's look at this. So if they just redesigned this a little bit and had their filter cover more of a service area and made it easier to put that filter in, this could be a phenomenal product. If they took just the filter material in our mask, for example, if they just used that material, which is very cheap... We make our own filter material here, it'd be like five, 10 cents for them to make a filter using the material that we're using, and this would be at 99%. But instead we got it at 45.73%, and that's what I want to use for the website. We'll give them the 45.73%. Although I should give them the smaller one, because there's no way that that's actually going to work. Not 99% though, so definitely some false claims here. This is not a good mask.

I wouldn't use the mask. I don't like you Halo Life. I don't like this Halo mask Life. I don't like it. So close, yet so far away. All right, thank you guys so much for watching.
