Why did this mask fail?

Review

Video Transcript Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the place on the internet where we are testing every single mask. Today's crazy, man. My collar's not helping. My hair's all over the place, but we're going to test masks anyways. We're not going to let that get in the way of talking about Lead Pro masks by Livocare. Lead Pro, all right. Weird bag. Let's put it in the clamper and then we will talk about this. Clamping machine. I like the ear loop. This is like... This mask looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet.

That's a horsing term, friend. Don't get it weird. All right. This PFE machine, particulate filtration efficiency machine. We want to find out more. Check this out. Remember, we are just testing the fabric here. We are not testing the fit, which would be impossible unless your face was exactly like mine. All right. What the heck is this mask? Well, looks like a basic mask.

The Lead Pro mask is selling for $1.99. Now, if you've checked postal rates lately for masks, which I have, a mask will cost you anywhere between $3.00 and $4.00, depending on how much of a discount you get from the US government. And I'm here to tell you folks, they're selling this mask for cheaper than you can actually ship it, so that leaves me skeptical. They're probably just trying to get rid of them I'd imagine, which you don't want to be putting that on your face. That's my opinion.

Not for children. Should never be used if its visibly damaged. Okay. Not making any claims. Let's look at the box. Comes in a weird bag. Feels very weird, the structure of it. Smells can get through this kind of bag. Single use, non sterile. They've got this thing on here for... Oh, they do have manufacturing date and log, that's good. The henya UV sanitary materials. Livocare it says is the brand and then they're selling as Lead Pro. And by the way I looked on their site here for Lead Pro, they're selling seat covers and like awnings and stuff, so definitely not a mask company. They're probably not making them anymore. They probably just stood up for the pandemic.

This is very weird. This is a brick of masks and it's almost fused together. It's like someone at the Amazon warehouse was like, I'll show you masks, and then like put it in the box. I mean, what's going on? Look at that. This is like aggressively bent. I've seen a lot of masks. This is a first. Let's take a look at the construction. It's using a Taiwanese design actually, which is actually a good design. They fold the spun bun over, and then they use that to weld the ear loop and that provides like a much stronger ear loop. Now, the reason why it's not ideal is because I don't think it gives as good of a seal against the face.

Personal opinion, going to depend on face shape. But Taiwanese design, a lot of people like this. Many people at the beginning of the pandemic come to our office and say, "Hey, can you make this?" "Nope. Can't. We don't make them that way. Sorry."

Not a bad fit actually, but look at the gapage I'm getting. See that? See that gapage I'm getting? That's because of the design, the way that it works. Again, everyone's face is going to be different. Let's do a smell test. It's pretty plasticy. Not surprising. I'm going to call this an empty 55 gallon drum that was recently filled with something weird. I don't know. All right. I'm skipping around today. Let's do this. See, that's a little stronger than what I would expect from a weird brick of masks like this, but it's still not very good. I don't think it's going to break on your face because of the style, but I'm barely trying. Trust me, I am not that strong people and this mask, I mean me versus this mask, I'm winning. I mean, making me feel good about myself to be honest.

All right. So we did smell and construction. What about particulate filtration, the reason y'all showed up. That's right, we're in Texas. We're going to throw a second person plural at ya every now and again. It's 4:30 on a Friday. Stick with me. Here we go. Oh, who would've thought that the brick of masks here would've failed this poorly? This guy. This guy would have. That's not good. 71.874. 71.874. Oh man. I'm wouldn't use that to protect something clever that I don't care about. We're here on a Friday. That's all I got for you. All right, guys. Thank you so much for watching. This is helpful. Give me a like and subscribe. It's what I live for. You know. I'll catch you on the next test. Thank you.
