The Suncoo Protective KN95 mask failed overall because we could not verify the manufacturer and it did not comply with the official KN95 standards.
The KN95 standard requires that the mask have the manufacturer name and the technical standard that the mask is claiming, typically either "GB 2626-2019" or GB-2626-2006" written across the front of the mask. (This is similar to how official N95 masks have NIOSH approval numbers printed on the front.)
Meeting the official technical standard is important in verifying that a mask is not counterfeit, and increases the likelihood it was stored properly and consistently meets quality standards for filtration and breathability. Therefore, masks that do not follow the official technical standard receive an overall score of Fail.
