Speaker 1:We've got one from Matthew from Washington, DC. "Thanks for offering to test these masks that I received from DC Help. It's great that the DC government is giving out masks to residences along with rapid tests. But of course, the quality of mask is very important." Couldn't agree more. "These two masks came from Kimochi branded box." Would love to have the picture or the actual box by the way. "But the masks are totally different from each other." Drama.
Speaker 2:
Really?
Speaker 1:
"The mask without the visible metal nose wire said it was made by Dongguan Zendra Optical Technology Co. and the box says GB 2626 but the masks are unlabeled. I didn't see the manufacturer name on the other. A story about the questionable mask quality was also picked up in the press. Washington City Paper, Is DC Giving Out Shoddy N95 Masks? If you're able to test these masks, letting me know the results would be incredibly helpful." And I think we can reach out to the Washington City Paper as well and let them know once we test the mask. All right, let's go ahead and do this. Okay. So we got two masks here that were given to residents of Washington, DC. All right, we're going to test these real quick. I'm going to do this one real fast
Speaker 2:
Because we're almost done. Well, we have a whole bunch of other masks.
Speaker 1:
It's not super high quality. This is not a KN95. I can tell just by looking. You need three things on a KN95 to meet the 2019 standard, which is the latest standard. Needs to say KN95. They got that. Needs to say GV2626-2019, which they don't have on there. And he just said that it was the 2006 standard, which is older than you, which is insane. So they don't need the manufacturer name on the mask for that reason. But if it was the latest standard, they do. 3, 2, 1. Good job. And we're getting really good breathability here.
Speaker 2:
And that's good.
Speaker 1:
Well, no, it's not good.
Speaker 2:
It's not good?
Speaker 1:
Because if it's too breathable that means that it's probably letting other things in.
Speaker 2:
But if it is breathable, that is good.
Speaker 1:
You're right.
Speaker 2:
If it's too breathable, that's not good.
Speaker 1:
You're right.
Speaker 2:
[inaudible 00:02:07].
Speaker 1:
Uh-oh.
Speaker 2:
What?
Speaker 1:
What does it say, Julie?
Speaker 2:
Uh-oh, 93.
Speaker 1:
That's right. 93.106. 93.106. Insane breathability, 69.3 pascals. 69.3 pascals. Now let's check out this other mask.
Speaker 2:
The nose wire's on the outside, which is kind of weird.
Speaker 1:
I've seen that before.
Speaker 2:
You have?
Speaker 1:
Oh yeah. I've seen everything at this point.
Speaker 2:
I don't think that's quite true, but anyway, it could be. Wait, what does this one smell like?
Speaker 1:
This one smells...
Speaker 2:
It smells like lake water.
Speaker 3:
It's like the ocean.
Speaker 1:
3, 2, 1. The test is done. What do you think, Julie? What does it say?
Speaker 2:
99 point...
Speaker 1:
04. 99.04. Is that good?
Speaker 2:
Yeah. [inaudible 00:03:10].
Speaker 1:
That's really good. That's one of the best tests we got today.
